Notation
BMT = specified base metal thickness.
f´c = characteristic compressive strength of concrete at 28 days which may be taken equal
to the specified strength grade
fcm = mean site-cured compressive cylinder strength of concrete at the time of testing.
L = slab span in the direction in which moments are being determined, measured between
support centres.
Ln = length of clear span in the direction in which moments are being determined,
measured face-to-face of supporting beams or walls.
